Lethe is a small, growing collection of tools built the same way: no accounts required, no tracking, no data kept any longer than it takes to serve you. Everything we ship is free, and stays free.
Our own web crawler and search index, the fetcher, the crawl, the machines it runs on. You can search it, or sit and watch it work; the dashboard shows crawl rate, queue depth and every source we pull from. Queries are not stored — there is no table for them.

We try not to say "private", "secure" or "military-grade" — they mean nothing on a website. What we can say precisely: each tool we build discloses exactly what it does and doesn't keep, and is built openly enough that you don't have to take our word for the binaries.1
The name is from the river in Hades. You drank from it and forgot who you'd been. That's closer to what we're going for than "encrypted".
